Open and View a QBO File Online

Choose a QuickBooks® Web Connect (.qbo) file to inspect every transaction, review parsing warnings, and export only when you are ready. Your file stays on your device.

How to view a QBO file

  1. Choose or drop your .qbo file above. You can use the synthetic sample if you do not have one handy.
  2. Check the account summary, transaction count, date range, and any warnings.
  3. Review every row and select the columns you want to keep.
  4. Clear the file when finished, or download a CSV or XLSX copy for your spreadsheet.

What is a QBO file?

A .qbo file is a QuickBooks Web Connect statement download supplied by a bank or card provider. It uses the OFX format to carry account metadata and transaction records such as posted dates, amounts, names, memos, and transaction IDs. It is a data file, not a spreadsheet workbook.

Why Excel cannot open a QBO file directly

Excel does not turn the QBO/OFX structure into transaction rows and columns on its own. Opening the source as plain text shows tags rather than a usable table. This viewer parses supported transaction records first; you can then download the QBO to Excel converter output or a UTF-8 CSV for Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

What you can inspect

The table shows every parsed transaction, including posted date, transaction type, amount, FITID, name, memo, check number, reference number, account type, currency, and source format. The viewer supports common SGML-style and XML-style QBO files. It does not connect to a bank or QuickBooks, import data, or promise compatibility with every damaged or unusual file.

Privacy & security

Your file is read and parsed in this browser. Its bytes, filename, path, account details, and transactions are not uploaded or stored on a Ledger File Lab server. Clear the file or refresh the page to remove the parsed data. Review the preview and any export before accounting use.

FAQ

Can I view a QBO file without QuickBooks?

Yes. Choose the file above to inspect supported transactions in your browser. You do not need a QuickBooks account or a Ledger File Lab account.

Does the viewer show all transactions?

Yes. Every parsed transaction is shown in the preview. There is no 50-row preview cap, and the count shows the total parsed from your file.

Can I convert the file after viewing it?

Yes. Use the download buttons above, or open the dedicated QBO to Excel or QBO to CSV page.

Is my financial file uploaded?

No. The file is read and parsed inside your browser. Clear the file or refresh the page to remove its parsed data.
